Hamachi Relayed Tunnel & Ping Request Timed Out Error

The following post will deal with two very common LogMeIn Hamachi problems, relayed tunnel connection and ping request timed out error.

Relayed tunnel connection shows up most of the time do to windows firewall blocking one or more of the Hamachi Client ports. In order to have it fixed you need to make a firewall exception for “Hamachi Client Tunneling Engine”.

To make an exception open “Windows Firewall”  by visiting “Control Panel”.

On the left select “Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall

Press “Change settings” than “Allow another program

Browse” direct to Hamachi directory (Usually its C:\Program Files (x86)\LogMeIn Hamachi) Once there select Hamachi-2.exe (DO NOT SELECT Hamachi-2-ui.exe) “Open

Select “Hamachi Client Tunneling Engine” Press “Add” Followed by “OK” to close.

Restart Hamachi client

Ping Request Timed out is caused by disabled “File and printer sharing”

To enable “File and printer sharing” open “Control Panel” followed by “Network and Sharing Center” Select “Change advanced sharing setting” on the left side of the window. Under “File and printer sharing” Select “Turn on file and printer sharing” Click “Save changes

Close out all open windows.

  1. Maybe this is not active anymore, but I’ve tried this countless times and it still doesn’t seem to work..
